Introduction

My name is Lindsay Tsuji and I am the new interim president of the Toronto Chapter.

At the Chapter board meeting on Sunday August 18th, Ken Noma tendered his resignation from his executive position and as a member of the Board. I have agreed to sit in the president’s chair until December 7th when we hold our chapter AGM. I’ve been recently involved with various projects targeting young JC’s in our community. Big thanks to Ken for all his hard work as president and for helping us through this transition. My thanks to you and members of the board for your continued dedication and support. Looking forward to working with you all!

Mural Project

The Chapter youth committee has been hard at work creating a large-scale mural at the site of a key Japanese-Canadian community hub in Toronto. The two-story mural will be painted on the side of Sanko, a Japanese-Canadian owned and operated grocery store. The project will be created by five talented JC artists, and will visually articulate what it means to be a Japanese Canadian. This project aims to give the community a physical presence in downtown Toronto. It is set to wrap up in early October.
